14 Months

We're 14 months old! We attempted to get our photos taken but we are tough to nail down!

Ok, let's get this over with.

Cheer up, Colin.

Ava clearly restless...

This is the expression that Ava gets when she is on the move. Sort of sneaky and proud of herself at the same time.

I am being forced to sit here too long!

It'll be over soon, Colin.

The Dude abides.

The end.

Bear Walking

Ava's preferred method of transport on the hardwood floors is the Bear Walk....

She's headed for the bathroom where Colin is in the tub. She's in her onesie because at the end of the day, before bathtime, it is strip-down time - everyone's favorite part of the day!

At the same time, the gates holding the babies in the family room come down for the evening and that freedom - coupled with her now non-socked feet (more grip!) - sends Ava making a break for it like she just tunneled out of prison...

Getting ready to enjoy a yummy pasta dinner.

Pasta with red sauce - you're sure, Mom? Ok, here goes...

Savoring the flavor.

Flavor everywhere.

Delicious!

Random Pics

Brianna, the twins' nanny, got on us about not posting much recently - even though she's here every other day with the babies she still checks the blog! So here is our favorite kind of post: random pics!

Playing together.

Ava is kind of a bully... taking toys from Colin.

And Colin is kind of a baby about it... he just cries when she gets near and takes his stuff.

And if she gets TOO close, he shoves her!

She's a tough cookie.

Tough, but sweet.

Majoring in Naptime.

Doodah.

Loves his cheeeeeeeese!

Colin at work, making (piggy) bank.

Hold my calls! Sell, sell! Everyone's selling? Then buy! Buy!

Ava is happy with her buckets.

Colin Helmet Update

So we appealed our insurance company's decision to deny our claim for Colin's Cranial Remolding Helmet and had been waiting to hear... and waiting... and waiting...

Upon our return from Caribou we had one last Christmas present waiting in the mailbox - a letter from Aetna. Our appeal: accepted! Paid in full! Yay!

The lesson here is obvious: go through with the appeal! For anyone finding us who might be going through the same process, we used a variation of the form letter we found here along with some sections taken from the samples on this helpful site. We kind of edited parts all together, and personalized it, into what we thought sounded right. It works!
